Mirrorless Camera Sony Alpha A7C

Sony A7C is compact and essentially is A7 III but packed into a smaller camera body with a couple of tweaks. A7C is the world’s smallest full-frame camera with image stabilization just like the Sony A7 III.

Camera Specs

  • 24.2 MP full-frame high resolution
  • Real-time Eye AF and Real-time Tracking for stills and movies
  • 5.0-step optical image stabilization, 6K oversampled 4K, Digital Audio Interface
  • full-frame interchangeable-lens digital cameras with an optical in-body image stabilization mechanism
  • Approx. effective
  • Based on CIPA standard. Pitch/yaw shake only
  • Planar T* FE 50mm F1.4 ZA lens mounted.

Camera Sensor

The A7C can shoot up to 115 raw images at 10 frames per second with a max shutter speed of 1/4000.

Except it’s fast the ISO can range from 100 to 51,200 and extend all the way up to 204,800 ISO.

In my use, anything past 12,800 ISO started to show a lot of smoothing and noise but sighs it’s still a huge range.

Pros

  • 5-axis IBIS
  • Forward-facing touch LCD
  • Great tracking autofocus
  • 10fps drive
  • 4K video with flat and HDR
  • Best-in-class battery life

Cons

  • EVF is on the small side
  • No new menu system
  • Low Design Touch functions
  • 4K tops out at 30fps

and I felt really comfortable leaving auto ISO and just setting the max to 10,000.

It’s a 28-60 millimeter F4-5.6 pancake zoom lens, super compact, and it’s got a decent focal range.

but it definitely feels pretty plasticky and that slow aperture really doesn’t show off this camera’s best self.

Video Quality

Now, there isn’t too much new here on the video side with 4K at 24 frames per second and 30 frames per second.

but to get 120 frames per second or even just 60 frames per second, you’ll have to jump down to 1080.

Camera Stabilization

the Sony A7C offers 5-axis in-body image stabilization top-of-industry autofocus crazy video production capabilities and tons of amazing features.

That ISO is definitely more helpful when using a low shutter speed and taking photos.

Camera Battery

The battery life on this camera is also really good.

You can record at 4K for well over an hour and a half with no overheating just before the battery dies.

Sony A7 C Performance

the A7C has no video record limit if you are a professional photographer you can record for hours without stopping the record limit. On the previous models was 30 minutes recording limit so you had to stop and restart your recording after 30 minutes but with A7 C you can go on forever for as long as you have battery and space on an SD card.

the A7C has sony’s latest color science so the color is slightly improved over the A7 III. A7C has gyro data so you can stabilize your video footage in post versus just having to rely on your ibis although it does have ibis as well.

Sony Alpha A7C Body

if you look at the body of the A7C is very simple the scroll wheel on the front is missing that you get on the A7 III and you’re missing a whole bunch of custom buttons.

A7 C has a smaller body than the A7 III and it is 22 percent lighter. the A7 C is the first camera in the lineup that you can argue is not necessarily an upgrade but in many ways is worse than the Sony A7 III.

Sony A7C LCD Screen

The viewfinder on the A7 C is located in the corner it’s much smaller than the viewfinder that you get on the A7 III in fact the magnification on the A7 C’s viewfinder is .59 x versus the 0.78 x that you get on the Sony A7 III.

Sony A7 C Autofocus

It offers amazing continuous autofocus 4k video down sampled from 6K, s log high dynamic range video color grading, continuous eye autofocus ibis for movie and stills all this with stunning image quality

this camera offers real-time autofocus for both humans and animals the autofocus performance is on par with what you get with the Sony A7 III.

Sny A7C Price

the sony A7C is priced higher than other entry-level full-frame cameras but this camera has to offer is really amazing.

the prices for these types of cameras you can get the A7 for around $500, the A7 II is up to about $800 so the A7 III is around $2000, and the A7C is $1800.

Disadvantages

  • A7C only has the micro HDMI port

Wrapping Up

A7C is one of the best bets in the full-frame price this camera is indeed number one in video production vlogging or producing any sort of social media content.

Conclusion

So, in my testing experience, the A7 III is by far the best camera if you look for the smaller viewfinder with a single card slot. So, the A7C for myself is an excellent option for the budget especially because you can find it for a little bit of lesson in the market.

Why You Should Buy Sony A7C?

the A7C is a fantastic full-frame camera that costs $1,600 at BH Photo the A7C is a very underrated camera and it is very different than the FX30. It does have some similarities with the great 4K that is downsampled from the 6K just like the Sony FX30.

It has a fully articulating flip-out screen like the FX30, it has the ability to record the gyroscopic data so you can run that through Catalyst browse and have fantastic gimbal-like image stabilization.
