In this review, I’m talking about why Nikon Z 50 is a favorite camera I’m not saying that it’s the best performing system I’m saying it is a favorite system camera body to find a unique camera and lens combination.
Nikon Z50 is the first APS-C mirrorless camera from Nikon and with this camera, Nikon has entered at a crowded segment of mirrorless cameras to compete with Sony, Fujifilm, and Canon mirrorless cameras.
Z50 is an entry mirrorless camera that offers 4k up to 24 frames per second it has a Mac shutter speed at 1/4 thousandth of a second it has a flip screen that’s gonna come down.
Z50 is actually lightweight, and the handling is incredible it’s not the perfect camera because every camera has its pros and cons and just Z50 doesn’t have things like a joystick, it doesn’t have ibis.
Table of Contents
Body
there is something unique that Z50 has and no other z camera has and that is one with a front facing screen, does have object tracking, a decent buffer, it uses a single UHS 1 SD card which I found to work slower.
It does not have internal flash but it has flash connection capacity through the most common and most used port in the world of the camera. It has a single slot, and it uses a memory card, it has a wireless wifi Bluetooth connection using the cal application,
Z50 uses an HDMI micro port and it’s smaller and much more fragile but in comparison with its competitors like the Z6 the Z7 the Nikon Z6 II the Nikon Z7 II they use an HDMI mini port.
Z50 is slightly smaller than some of its competitors like the Z6 but looks more comfortable than Sony A7R III just because it’s more rounded and a little bit smaller in the hand. Maybe a larger grip is better for someone like me so there’s no display at the top like the Z6 and the Z7 its also missing some of the buttons on the back.
Nikon replaced the buttons by putting them on the touchscreen and one advantage that this camera has over all of the other zeds is pop-up flash that can help in certain scenarios so this is my review for the body what I realized and found.
Nikon Z50 Sensor
the sensor of this camera is a full frame so the full frame is the largest census which can capture more information in each image and has a greater capacity for greater light recovery capacity it has a resolution of 26.2 megapixels.
the Z50 has a 20.9 megapixel aps-c sensor so crop sensor shoots 11FPS continuously takes SD cards.
the 20.9 MP sensor works admirably when powered by an expeed 6 cpu processor which delivers quicker focusing and 60p 4k video found in the Nikon Z6 and Nikon Z7.
In addition to supporting 4K video recording, it contributes to images with brilliant realistic colors and a high degree of overall detail.
Autofocus
the AF slow light performance might be worse but it does a good job with eye detection there are trade-offs like the single SD card slot which only supports slower UHS I cards.
Video Features
Nikon Z50 is a fantastic camera body and an insanely good camera after recording a couple of videos with this camera I think that this is one of the best cameras seriously a powerhouse 4k video up to 30 FPS 120 fps at 1080p.
I was really excited about the AI autofocus the EVF is crystal clear the refresh rate is great it’s sharp the images are great you are able to zoom in the EVF zoom back out and take a photo.
lowlight Performance
So what I don’t like about this camera is that there are a few caveats with the system it’s not a good low light performer because the Z50 does not have any ibis so you’re going to have to rely on that higher ISO and maybe a little bit of tripod or some sort of stabilizer in order to get a decent lowlight performance.
Image Quality
Z50 is very good in terms of photos it has incredible image quality I’ll show you down some photos I took with it and it just blows me away how good it is. When it comes to things like dynamic range it should be better image quality because when using an APS-C size sensor it kind of crops in.
the Z50 is gonna max out at 30 frames per second at 4K and you can do 120 at HD so in 1920 by 1080
Battery
Z50 has a battery that the Nikon Z6 the Nikon Z7 the Nikon D850 and so many more cameras use this form factor battery. so in the Z50 they decided to do something different they put this smaller battery it’s probably a volume wise about half the size and perhaps half the power.
So the power on the Z50 battery is 1120 milliamps and the latest the c version is much higher but Z50 uses b version of this battery. So, not only is this battery smaller it has less capacity it does not last as long so when you shoot this one will run out for short.
Nikon Z50 Weight
the weight of this camera 1.07 pounds or 400g that’s a pretty lightweight package very good advantage of the millions is much more compact which makes it lighter and smaller.

Nikon Z 50 Price
So, this body costs $850 in comparison with its competitors like the Z6 costs anywhere between $2000 so the Z6 is more than twice but its the price you get what you pay for.
Why you Should Buy Nikon Z50?
the Z50 is such a small camera that feels great in the hand not only does it feel super high quality but it’s got plenty of buttons and dials and you could just change everything from single-handedly being able to change everything single-handedly.
So, Z50 has a 20 megapixel crop sensor it has one single SD card slot, no in-body image stabilization it has 11 frames per second, the back screen is three-inch touchscreen, and flipping straight down in a terrible decision, when it comes to the ergonomics it’s a little bit smaller than the Z6 and the Z7.

Wrapping UP
the Nikon Z50 shows a testament to the Nikon zed system and you have a camera with good performance like the Nikon Z6 II and that sort of camera.
Z50 produces insanely good photos the autofocus is incredible, the focal range is incredible everything works really well this is a type of camera system just to grab and go.
Conclusion
S,o let me know what you guys think of the Nikon Z50 maybe the performance might not always be the best as you expect or in the lowlight but if you really enjoy using and shooting with it then it’s just going to be a great experience.
So, which Nikon APS-C camera would you use for wildlife photography the Nikon Z50 or I will say the Fuji X-T30 the Z50 is a good choice but that’s a tough question because they are both incredible cameras.
