Have you been waiting for the Canon EOS R1 the EOS R1 is a long-awaited flagship mirrorless camera that’s supposed to be competing or even take the crown from the Sony A1.
According to Canon the EOS R3 it’s promising to be all about speed capable of high-performance video, focused on stills, and the most powerful mirrorless camera capable of 30 fps electronic just like the Sony Alpha A1. So, now let’s get into my Canon EOS R1 full review with more details.
Canon R1 is a mirrorless version of Nikon 1DX Mark III rated as Canon R3 but at the same time, Sony is coming with Canon R5.
the Canon R1 will opt for 20 to 30 megapixel stills at 30 to 60 frames per second or have a higher resolution with a lower number of frames per second. Also, I couldn’t find any related issues with the rolling shutter when using the electronic shutter.

Canon R1 Body
Canon R1 Sensor
EOS R1 has an 85-megapixel full-frame backside illuminated stack sensor with 30 frames per second shooting and actually able to compete with the Sony A1.
The difference between a stacked sensor and a normal sensor is that basically has a faster readout because if you’re shooting 30 frames per second that’s 30 photos in a second that’s basically video 30 frames per second continuous shooting.
EOS R1 shooting in 8K 24 to 25 and 30 frames per second, 60fps the same as the Nikon Z9.
So, if you have got a really high frame per second and then obviously a high megapixel count that’s going to be like a lot of memory coming through the camera per second.
So, if you are using for example 20 frames per second with like a 50-megapixel sensor having a stacked sensor makes the readout from the camera through the sensor onto the camera itself a lot quicker but then it’s also meant to have 30 frames per second continuous shooting.
Screen
The screen is also designed to be bright and clear, making it easy to see in a variety of lighting conditions. It has a high brightness mode that can be activated when shooting in bright sunlight, which can be helpful for outdoor photography.
Processor
EOS R1 has a Dual Digic X processor which is a really fast processor everything to do with this camera is gonna be quick and fast.
Dual Pixel Autofocus
Dual pixel autofocus on EOS R1 is absolutely amazing it tracks the eyes so well it tracks everything really well it’s super fast and has features like this one that’s going to be a really good big jump in actually autofocus capabilities of this camera.
ISO Sensitivity
EOS R1 has an ISO range of 100 to 102400 that’s expandable to 50 to 1.6 million which is ridiculous, it’s basically pitch black for the video capabilities it’s going to compete with all these cameras I mention.
Dynamic Range
R1 can capture 10-bit 422 it has 14 to 15 plus stops of dynamic range, has unlimited recording time, and apparently, it has 5 Axis in body image stabilization up to 9 stops which is really good especially if you pair it with an image stabilized lens.
Autofocus
so the autofocus capability of the EOS R1 is absolutely amazing the dual pixel autofocus is super good it tracks people’s eyes, has animal af, car af, train af air plane af.

Video Features
So, I think the EOS R1 will definitely do 8k video it’s going to be better than the EOS R5 and the EOS R3 for video in stills for video and stills.
Shutter
the shutter speed goes up to 164 thousandth of a second which is four times faster than most cameras and a stop faster than the Sony A1.
the rolling shutter is also improved by about 25 percent over the 1dx mark III.
Canon reintroduces eye control they also redesigned and improved focus features to mind reading level in low light conditions.
the focusing range is now minus 7.5 EV the best of any eos camera, their 5-axis ibis is now 8 stops of stability on the video side.

Canon EOS R1 Price
If you’re gonna be thinking of buying R1 it looks very expensive the price is actually leaked out it’s going to be between $6000 and $7000.
this camera is going to be probably the best camera the price wise is ridiculous huge so what is your favorite camera are you going to be picking up the Canon R1 or you will go with a camera like the Canon R5C, or you’re just going to go with maybe a Canon R5.
